A pioneer in Ayurvedic medicine, Gampaha Wickramaratchi Siddhayurveda Ausheda (Pvt) Ltd. is a family business spanning four generations and based in Sri Lanka. It owns and controls the entire production process, from the herbs and natural ingredients used to the manufacturing facility to the dispensaries and distribution networks. All manufactured value-added products are made entirely of natural herbal ingredients, the majority of which are obtained from local vendors.
THE FOUNDER, PANDITH G.P. WICKRAMARATCHI
History
Pandith G.P. Wickramaratchi, the company's founder, was a renowned physician and prominent scholar in Ayurveda. He was the first to receive the government of Sri Lanka's highest honour for an Ayurveda physician—the title of "Ayurveda Chakravarthi Raja Vaidya"—for his widely recognized work.
In addition to being a skilled practitioner of Ayurveda, he was dedicated to Sri Lanka's social progress and advancement of science. He devoted his life to Ayurveda healing and the teaching of it to others and established Sri Lanka's first institution for studying the Siddhayurveda tradition of medicine in 1928 as the Gampaha Wickramarachchi Siddhayurveda College, which later became affiliated with the University of Kelaniya.
The historic institution that has served as Sri Lanka's center for indigenous medicine for more than 77 years, was converted into a full-fledged university on March 4, 2021, and was launched as the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine (GWUIM) with the goal of establishing it as a global center of excellence for indigenous medicine education in the South Asian region.
Furthermore, he founded the Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Teaching Hospital which now serves as one of the leading Ayurveda hospitals on the island.

Grand-daughter of the renowned Pandit G.P.Wickramaratchi himself and a qualified MBBS doctor in her own right is the Managing Director of the company. Additionally she herself is a Traditional Ayurvedic Medical Practitioner, Diploma holder in Ayurveda Pharmacy (GWAI, University of Kelaniya) and Diploma holder in Ayurveda Panchakarma Spa and Aroma therapy
She currently serves as a council member of the council for the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine and further serves as a member of the committee of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Hospital.
